Innovia Films Results

This test was completed by a major film exporter - Innovia Films. They were having great difficulty transporting their film from Melbourne to Hong Kong, as the rapid increase and decrease in temperature would damage their film. The film would contract and expand, therefore the film became brittle. They found that once their shipment left Melbourne and arrived in Hong Kong it was left unattended on the docks for eight days. As demonstrate, the film experienced severe temperature spiking throughout the entire journey, right from the commencement of the voyage in Melbourne

No Insulcap® Insulation

The above figure displays the transportation of film from Melbourne to Hong Kong without the use of Insulcap®. As demonstrated, the film experienced severe temperature spiking ranging from 28°C to 54°C. As the film contracted and expanded in these extreme conditions, the film became brittle and unusable.

Innovia Films approached The Wilpak Group Pty Ltd for a solution to their problem. They required product protection from all the elements during the transportation processand could regulate their temperature storage easily. Innovia Film needed Insulcap®.

With Insulation

With the use of Insulcap®, Innovia Films' product was able to reach Hong Kong without damage due to the rapid heating up and cooling down of their film and controlling the temperature storage with ease. Insulcap® was able to reduce the temperature spiking, therefore reducing the contracting and expanding of the film. Insulcap® was able to maintain optimal temperature, essentially protecting the film.

FGB Natural Product Results

FGB Natural Products is one of Australia's independent leading pharmaceutical companies. FGB trialled Insulcap® in stimulated extreme heat conditions through an oven. Two water drums were used for the trial, where one had Insulcap® protection and the other was without Insulcap®. The results display the oven temperature and both drums, where a difference in heating and cooling temperatures of both the control drum and Insulcap® drum are demonstrated.

Fonterra Results

Multinational Dairy Company, Fonterra trialled Insulcap® under various temperature conditions over an eight hour period. They tested an Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) Product in both warm and cool conditions. The graph shows the results of both with Insulcap® and without Insulcap®.

Fonterra Concluded that, with the use of Insulcap®, the IQF product was able to maintain the desired temperature levels over the eight hour duration. Without the use of Insulcap®, the IQF product experienced significant temperature variances

Environment -25°C

These results display the control of temperature when using Insulcap® in a chilled environment of minus 25°C. A yoghurt product was kept in a freezer for a period of four days. According to Export Control (Milk and Milk Products) Orders 2005, for yoghurt to completely freeze, it must be below minus 18°C. Therefore, the yoghurt was kept in a desired temperature range without freezing with special insulated pallet covers.

Environment -18°C

These results display the control of temperature when using Insulcap® in a chilled environment of minus 18°C. A major supermarket, Woolworths, transported a pallet of mixed goods in the back of their truck for a period of eight hours. In such cold temperatures, it can be expected that some of the goods would freeze but with the use of Insulcap®, the goods were kept in a controlled environment without freezing.

Environment 20°C

These results display the control of temperature when using Insulcap® in ambient conditions of 20°C. A sample of pet mince was left in the loading dock of a major cold store, unattended for two and a half days. If the mince was not protected by Insulcap®, it would be deemed unsafe for human consumption. Mince for human consumption needs to be stored between 0-3°C (Foodscience CSIRO).
